Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Senior Facilities Electrical Engineer for our Sacramento, CA location. Under general direction of management, the Senior Facilities Engineer determines optimal approaches to implement projects to meet departmental objectives supporting Aerojet Rocketdyne operations. This individual will manage various facility Civil and Structural projects relating to plant infrastructure, Space Planning, process equipment, and remodel/new building construction. Position requires engineering experience and knowledge of structural and Civil Engineering concepts and their application to facility infrastructure systems. Opening can go up 1 level..45 : Responsibilities include planning, conducting and directing projects or major phases of significant project assignment, as well as coordinating the efforts of support staff in the performance of assigned activities. Independently studies and develops new technical advancements to be applied in facility/manufacturing applications. 40 : Act as a liaison to all levels of operating unit or customer personnel. May conduct reviews with the plant quality experts. Develops solutions to complex problems which require the use of ingenuity and innovation. Work is reviewed at extended intervals for desired results and achievement. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results could result in the expenditure o large amounts of operating unit resources. May serve as an internal consultant for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans and objectives. 10 : Apply unique expertise in order to recommend to management the most effective techniques, procedures and processes for meeting the objectives of the organization. Directs unique specialized projects of critical importance. 5 : Identify problems of complex nature; plan methods of approach and analyze alternatives in order to recommend solutions to management. Present plans and proposals to management. Provide input to management concerning changes to departmental policies, plans and objectives.Requires a Bachelors degree in an appropriate engineering discipline and five (9) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. U.S. Citizenship, Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person required. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement. Must be proficient using MS Office suite, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in establishing and overseeing maintenance or capital projects is preferred. Desirable Qualifications:Professional Engineering Registration.Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and/or Energy Management experience. Work Environment/Physical Requirements:The work environment may require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.
