Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Senior Mechanical Facilities Engineer, Facilities Engineering and Planning for our Sacramento, CA location. Under general direction of management, the Senior Mechanical Facilities Engineer is required to manage various facility projects relating to plant infrastructure, tenant improvements, space planning, process equipment, mechanical and renovation of existing buildings. The successful candidate shall have a broad knowledge of mechanical engineering and a knowledge of all engineering disciplines (civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and fire protection).50 : Responsibilities include managing the design of multi:discipline projects with local architectural and engineering firms. This includes managing putting together the design package which includes data sheets, calculations, drawings and specifications as needed for approval through our internal review process and local jurisdictions. Knowledge of local and state codes is required. Knowledge of international and federal codes and requirements is a plus. The successful candidate will perform all coordination needed and documentation during the process. 30 : Act as a liaison to manufacturing and production personnel to develop solutions to complex problems which require the use of ingenuity and innovation. May serve as a representative for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans and objectives. 10 : Coordinate with maintenance and recommend to management the most effective techniques, procedures and processes to solve production and manufacturing issues. 10 : Identify problems concerning manufacturing and production. Find alternatives and recommend solutions to management. Provide input to management concerning changes to departmental policies, plans and objectives.Requires a Bachelors degree in an appropriate engineering discipline and five (5) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. U.S. Citizenship, Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person required. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement. Additional Requirements:Must be proficient using MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Strong mechanical engineering background with knowledge and understanding of mechanical systems.Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and related specifications.Ability to write clearly and concisely.Understanding of appropriate codes, regulations and specifications.Experience in the design and development of mechanical systems.Ability to direct meetings with customers and design team regularly during the design process.Maintain documents: Drawings, records, specifications, meeting minutes, and calculations. Desirable Qualifications:Professional Engineering Registration.General understanding of manufacturing processes.An advanced degree or coursework toward an advanced degree is a plus.Experienced with AutoCAD or Microstation.Experience in establishing and overseeing maintenance and capital projects.
