This position will be based out of our Quincy Direct store in Dixon, CA. FIELD SERVICE MANAGER The Field Service Manager develops the customer service business in the assigned region/area in accordance with Quincy standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer. Provide daily oversight for a team of experienced Service Technicians. This position oversees the daily operations of a team of experienced Service Technicians, providing leadership, development, support, and motivation for the team. Business Management (50%) - Develop the service business in the assigned region/area including establishing goals for service-related products and results. Meet or exceed established business goals. Control costs and maximize profit levels. Strengthen customer relations by making routine visits to resolve issues, advice on service standards, assist in the sales of service plans/products, including training, as required. Oversee the daily operations of a team of Service Technicians, providing leadership, development, support, and motivation for the team. Plan and control the daily workload of the Service Technicians and provide technical support to the Service Technicians and customers. Interview, hire, and provide orientation/training for new employees. Responsible for performance reviews for assigned direct reports. Working with Human Resources, take appropriate disciplinary actions as needed. Oversee and improve the efficiency of daily administrative routines. Customer Relations (30%) - Visit customers and provide advice on service standards and sell service plans, products, and training. Proactively identify, pursue, and resolve service issues. Support the daily operations of Service Technicians by facilitating communications with technical support, sales/marketing, and the customer. Take whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done and to establish and maintain communications with all people/employees considered necessary to get the job done. Communicate with the Service Coordinators to deal with scheduling issues. Provide reports concerning WIP (work-in-process). Safety (20%) - Maintain a safe working environment while enforcing safety procedures and compliance to Federal laws and regulations. Create and ensure a culture of safety. Arrange safety training for Service Technicians as mandated by regulatory agencies and customers. Conduct regular safety training and perform audits of safety practices employed by field service technicians. Maintain documentation/certification records relevant to this training. Education and Experience: 5-7 years of directly relevant field service experience, preferably within the compressed air industry. Prior supervisory experience preferred. High school diploma required; two or four-year technical college degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be self-directed and have excellent organizational, supervisory, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of safety practices and procedures and OSHA regulatory compliance required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, MAM, and other Quincy business systems including BPCS, Salesforce.com, and Virtual Library. Willingness to travel overnight as required. Must have a valid driver's license. Physical Demands: Required to be able to move about the facility (standing, walking). Personal Protective Equipment: Must wear PPE in designated work areas. Must comply with company safety and PPE requirements. Must comply with customer safety and PPE requirements, as directed, varying by job-site location and task to be performed or supervised. Varying with environment, will be required to wear safety glasses, hard hat, safety-toe shoes, arc-flash equipment (NFPA 70E or equivalent) and other safety equipment as defined by OSHA, Company, or other regulatory entity. Work Environment: Mixture of office environment with some warehouse or workshop environment, and frequent customer site visits in the field. Likely to be exposed to a field service environment at customers' job-sites.
