Sales Development Representatives at SmartWatt love people and spend their days reaching out to businesses across the United States to introduce them to SmartWatt's unique offerings in energy efficiency and systems optimization. Upon making contact with a prospective customer our Sales Development Representatives set the foundation for the customer relationship. They play a key role in generating new business for our team and improving SmartWatt's market position.

What do our Sales Development Representative's do to contribute to the team?

* Conduct research with intention and discover valuable information on prospective customers that is leveraged to successfully develop new sales opportunities across the United States.

* Contribute to pipeline building by effectively qualifying inbound leads and presenting fully qualified leads to the sales team.

* Work with the Sales team to develop effective sales communications that speak to the customer's needs, concerns and objectives.

* Efficiently manage prospect pipeline to produce the maximum amount of results, and accurately manage data for new and prospective clients in the Customer Management System.

* Perform outbound call campaigns around trade shows, specific events, or targets in addition to ongoing sales development activities.

* Continually develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the market and SmartWatt's competitors.

Our Sales Development Representatives work to meet or exceed quotas for qualified leads, and are rewarded for doing so!

The core components to be successful are (i.e. must haves):

* A High School Diploma or equivalent

* At least 1 year of experience successfully conducting sales or sales development (lead generation)

The following are a definite plus, so if you have either of these be sure to tell us!

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field

* Experience working with an HVAC controls contractors, mechanical contractor, energy services company or related organization.

Our most successful Sales Development Representatives come to us with the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

* Research skills; exhibits a healthy curiosity to get to know the prospective customer and has the know-how to leverage technology to research relevant and valuable information.

* Selling skills; a proven ability to initiate various strategies (e.g. cold calls, marketing events, networking, etc.) to increase customer base.

* Sales administration; ability to maintain customer information, prepare and process contracts and generate reports.

* Sales analysis; ability to identify, evaluate and target sales opportunities with the greatest potential.

* Customer focus; passionate about ensuring customers are happy.

* Relationship building; a demonstrated ability to quickly establish effective relationships and build trust.

* Quantity of work; ability to manage a high volume of transactions and activity on a weekly basis.

* Work quality; history of producing high quality work and an ability to take corrective actions.

* Planning; proven success in effectively setting priorities, establishing timelines and leveraging resources

* Communication; demonstrated ability to successfully communicate across all levels of an organization

* Computer skills; proficiency with MSOffice products and a proven ability to learn new technologies.

* Social Networking skills; ability to utilize social networking to engage prospective customers.

The work environment:

As a Sale Development Representative you will spend the majority of your time in an office setting which will have prolonged periods of sitting, working on a computer typing and using a mouse, as well as frequently utilizing the phone. The position frequently communicates with customers and co-workers and must be able to exchange accurate information in an understandable way.

There is potential travel required for this position, although it is rare.
