JOB TITLE: Business Development Manager
DEPARTMENT: JLS Sales

POSITION SUMMARY:
Develops and implements strategic sales and personal marketing plans to penetrate, financially grow and manage an assigned territory and/or specific prospect targets within the landscape management market. Achieves booking, gross margin, and annual landscape management sales and revenue goals. Team Sells with other members of the Jensen Landscape divisions as appropriate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
and uml; Develops sales leads. Effectively performs customer needs assessments, develops sales proposals, estimates, specifications and presentations. Works with operations, finance, legal and other inside and outside resources as needed to obtain the sale.
and uml; Follows through on projects sold to ensure satisfactory completion. Ensures an effective and efficient sale to operations turnover and monitors progress. Assists in resolving customer conflicts, collections and other customer satisfaction issues as needed.
and uml; Assists customers and potential customers with situations involving the delivery of company materials and services, and recommends suitable solutions.
and uml; Prepares accurate and thorough sales activity, forecast and expense tracking reports.
and uml; Participates in civic and professional organizations, sales department meetings, workshops and seminars. Keeps current on business market trends. Continues to pursue in:depth product and service knowledge, and acquire deeper selling, technical and financial skills.
and uml; Develops and maintains contacts with, but not limited to building owners, property managers, facilities managers, contractors and project managers to promote company products and services. Helps ensure above referenced contacts are providing appropriate opportunities to Jensen Landscape Services through generally acceptable business practices. Has the ability to read and understand site schematic drawings. Is able to understand a request for proposal, its content and scope of work. Able to establish accurate material counts as needed and assess labor requirements.
and uml; Requires a competent level of general business and financial knowledge to effectively estimate and sell Jensen Landscape Management service offerings with a strong degree of independence.
and uml; Ability to develop customer relationships with field personnel, managers and executive level contacts. Initiates, builds and maintains long:term relationships with the appropriate account decision makers directly. Participates in client presentations articulating the value proposition of product and service offerings.
and uml; Communicates and works cooperatively to achieve successful results with other members of the Jensen Landscape Management sales, operations and administrative staff, as well as all members of the affiliated Jensen Landscape companies.
and uml; Documents daily activity and customer relationship management by use of Salesforce for weekly review.
and uml; Requires a competent level of general business and financial knowledge to effectively estimate and sell Jensen Landscape Management service offerings with a strong degree of independence.
and uml; The ability to work independently and consistently provide timely and detailed follow up with professionalism.
and uml; Reviews contract details with clients and Jensen staff to assure expectations are clear and attainable.
and uml; All other responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
and uml; Experience in landscape construction or maintenance.
and uml; 2:4 years of experience in sales development and lead generation.
and uml; The ability to work independently and consistently provide timely follow up with prospects.
and uml; Advanced presentation, interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills.
and uml; Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
