As an equipment engineer you will be responsible for equipment support, evaluation, and installation of automated test equipment. Prepares maintenance procedures and policies, establishes support infrastructure, identifies and tracks equipment deficiencies and designs/implements improvements so that equipment readiness is not a gate to Qual/Engineering test/stress testing. Interfaces with product engineering, operation and facility teams to develop and support new processes, applications, and equipment. Estimates maintenance/equipment cost and makes recommendations for improvements. Supports KPIs and is active in department TPM initiatives. Works well with cross:site teams and suppliers as needed.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Full use and application of standard engineering principles, theories, concepts, and techniques when working on the equipment. Debug and provides resolutions to an assortment of problems driving to root cause solution. Applies judgment in interpreting results and conducting quantitative analysis. Contributes to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectives. Makes good use of problem solving techniques.
Process and Equipment Knowledge, Application and Software Knowledge (Windows, Linux, Perl, Python, Networking, Data Bases), SPC Knowledge, Engineering Solutions, Safety, Judgment and Decisions. Familiar with LOTO, 6S, safe work practices, TPM and KPIs on equipment. Support ISO/IATF audits.
Knowledge of these equipment is a plus: Advantest Handler, Nextest tester, C1D, Umate, Telprober, Thermonics, Sensata, Ambyx Chamber, CSAM
Identify and promptly report hazards
Follow safety procedures and area work rules including proper PPE, lockout and chemical safety. Performs equipment safety sign:off
Experience and Qualifications
*AS/BS Degree Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or military experience, 4 + years experience in the related field
*Ability to troubleshoot routine and non:routine problems
*Strong PC Skills, proficient in MS Office suite
*Experience with any programming or scripting language is a plus
*Solder and rework skills a plus
