Reporting to the Chief Curator, the Associate Curator assists in the selection, research, development, planning, production, and interpretation of the permanent collection and special exhibitions. The Associate Curator conceives, organizes, writes publications for, and installs special and collection-based exhibitions as assigned and in collaboration with the Chief Curator.

Work on and around the construction site.

Work flexible schedule during evenings and weekends to meet deadlines.

Occasional travel to visit museum sites and to meet with clients.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Expertise in international modern and/or contemporary art and art history.

Fluent in art museum best practice and standards of excellence.

Master's degree in Art, Art History, Museum Studies or other related discipline, or equivalent professional experience; with expertise in modern art, or closely related field.

Minimum of three years of museum experience with progressively responsible curatorial experience and demonstrated excellence in acquisitions, exhibitions, and scholarly museum publications

Experience collaborating with university faculty, museum staff, professional colleagues, and museum supporters.

Experience in developing broad Museum support, including fundraising, donor relations, and public relations.

Experience working effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong organizational skills: ability to prioritize and organize multiple activities, as well as supervise the activities of staff members around a common project.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD in Art History.

Teaching experience.

Demonstrated commitment to, and enthusiasm for, working with students.

Excellent writing record and demonstrated excellence in work place and donor communication.
