Vision To Learn is a non-profit organization that provides free eye exams and free glasses to elementary students in low-income communities to give them every chance to succeed in school and in life. The program was founded in Los Angeles in 2012 on the principle that if a child cannot see, they cannot learn. Vision To Learn has since expanded to schools throughout the nation.

We are currently seeking part-time Optometrists to work in the Sacramento area. Preferably on Tues, Wed, and/or Fridays. The Vision to Learn mobile clinic travels from school to school providing free examinations and glasses to those in need. We are looking for optometrists that enjoy and work well with children, and must be willing to be mobile as we serve different schools and organizations daily.

The doctors would provide primary vision evaluations (check VA’s, assess binocular vision, perform a full refraction and prescribe appropriate correction, assess ocular health). Prescribe vision devices, tests the patient on all applicable equipment to determine the most suitable for his/her condition, and instruct patient in the proper use of it. Our protocols were created and approved with the Wilmer Eye Institute to provide the children with exceptional care.

· As the position will work on a mobile clinic, must be flexible to commute throughout the Saramento area.
· Successful track record of working with children
· Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
· Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
· Must pass Department of Justice background check (LiveScan) and drug test
· Experienced using EMR systems. Microsoft Office experience as plus
· Spanish-speaking or other foreign languages a plus
