The Mailroom Supervisor is responsible for supervising the staff assigned to sort, open, prep and scan incoming mail and faxes. In addition, the supervisor will assist with the development and implementation of procedures pertinent to the effective and efficient operation of the Mailroom. Supervises the incoming mail, outgoing mail, imaging, and document retention and retrieval operations.Ensures appropriate retention of documents and timely forwarding of files to requester.Assures applicant premium payments received in the mail are handled appropriately.Manages courier service vendorsTrains, motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of Mail Operations staff.Monitors workloads, coordinates schedules, documents and develops department policies and procedures.Establishes and monitors Mail Operations staff production and quality.Maintains and trends Mail Operations reporting.Maintains a safe working environment in accordance with OSHA and risk management.Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.High School Diploma or GED required.AssociateA?s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.1 : 3 years of related experience.Experience in health or social services field preferred.1 year of lead/supervisor experience; health or social services field preferred.Experience in a Document Management environment preferred.Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to perform comfortably in a fast:paced, deadline oriented work environment.Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.Strong analytical skills and ability to manage difficult situations and the stress associated with them.Ability to lead and manage teams who are goal oriented.Responsible for adhering to established safety standards.Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time.Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds.Work is constantly performed in an office environment.A committed and diverse workforce is our most important resource.MAXIMUS is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.MAXIMUS provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status or disabled status.
