The California High-Speed Rail Authority (CA HSR) is responsible for planning, designing, building and operating the first high-speed rail system in the USA. CA HSR will connect the mega-regions of the State, contribute to economic development and will support a cleaner environment. It creates jobs and preserves precious agricultural and protected lands. By 2029, the system will run from San Francisco to the Los Angeles basin in under three hours at speeds capable of over 200 miles per hour. The system will eventually extend to Sacramento and San Diego, totaling 800 miles with up to 24 stations.

The CA HSR Authority is a small and dynamic State agency that has an exceptional opportunity for the executive level position of Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Position Highlights:

Oversee Operations of a $Multibillion dollar project to span 12+ years
Position reports directly to the CEO of CA HSR, who reports to nine board members, five of which are appointed by the Governor
The COO will have five direct reports who oversee six departments
No boring days! The COO will work with high level government officials one day and have their “boots on the ground’ working with the contractors the next.
