The Accounts Receivable Accountant will follow established procedures and guidelines under close supervision and will be part of the team responsible for providing rapid and high:quality financial information. This position will be located in Sacramento, CA. This current opening may be filled at this level as posted or at one level higher.40 : Works under general supervision. Prepares project billing for government contracts. Reviews and understands basic contract documents and accounting memos as it relates to billing requirements. Ensures all billings are done accurately and timely. Works with contract managers to determine the proper monthly billings based on the progress of each contract. Ensures cash receipts are applied accurately and timely. 30 : Prepares final contract close:out billings and pre:final billings for contracts with cancelling funds. Serves as liaison between Business Management and Contract Management. Ensures compliance with company policies, directives and work procedures including government contract accounting and project billings. Ensures compliance with Sarbanes:Oxley (SOX) controls, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). 30 : Prepares miscellaneous manual A/R billing and intercompany cost billings to Business Units. Prepares month:end journal entries and account reconciliations. Prints month:end reports. Provides support to companyA?s external and internal auditors during audits. Performs special projects as assigned.Requires a BachelorA?s degree in Accounting or Finance and 3 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, financial analysis and financial reporting is preferred. Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement Additional Requirements:Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word).Demonstrated ability to manage projects. Ability to prioritize to meet critical deadlines and focus on work product quality and accuracy.Good communication and interpersonal skills with hands on approach to process improvement and effective problem resolution.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Oracle ERP system a plus.Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) is desirable.
