Our COOK is responsible for all aspects of our food service, budget, Serve Safe standards, Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing, regulations, AWESOME customer service and being an incredible TEAM PLAYER. We are a Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace.
General Description of Position:
The Cook fulfills responsibilities of Brighton Schools Cook as forth in the job description. Demonstrates and implements Brighton Schools /NAEYC standards as well as adheres to Brighton Schools training and Employee Handbook
Responsible for the ordering, budgeting, preparation, and serving of lunch and snacks per the regulations of the Health Department. Responsible for the cleanliness of kitchen, food storage and serving areas.
Qualifications (in addition to General qualifications):
:Serve Safe Certified: Must possess the certificate.
:Ability to manage and maintain commercial kitchen equipment..
:An independent self starter.
:Positive, flexible and professional in appearance and communication.
:Able to work with families of children who have food preferences and allergies
:Coordinating and implementing the food service for our family events up to 200 people
:Ability to follow nutritional, health and service guidelines as stated in State of California, Title 22, Division 12, Food Service Regulations (Department of Agriculture), Health Department.
:Positive attitude, customer service focused and TEAMwork oriented with all people.
:Positive work history relative to punctuality, responsibility, and regular attendance.
:CPR and First Aid Qualified.
:Drug and Alcohol Free.
:A minimum of one year of experience working as a cook.
:Demonstrated experience menu planning and ordering accordingly.
:Exceptionally clean, organized and timely.
Additional Preferred:
:AA/ BA or substantial background or training/ experience in nutrition.
:Previous experience in food budgeting.
:Teacher Qualified as established for fully qualified Teacher in the California Day Care Centers Teacher Qualifications and Duties, Title 22, ( 12 Core Early Childhood Education units passed with A or B grade)
