Job Description Responsible for managing the implementation, development and maturity of enterprise architecture programs, by establishing the vision, risks, governance, and strategic objectives tied to the enterprise direction, managing the complexity of the organization's inventory, processes, distribution, responsibilities, timing, and motivations. The enterprise architect works with a range of departments in the business to lead the creation of a strategic portfolio while facilitating the development of artifacts. These artifacts are used to architecture the anatomy of the organization which guides senior level executives in making informed decisions, reduce redundancies, and maintain the ability to quickly adapt to future change, fundamentally changing how the enterprise transforms. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES OF AN ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT CONSULTANT Assess clients immediate needs, using structured interview processes to establish business priorities. Consult with business and subject matter experts (SMEs), to develop solutions. Advise on options, risks, cost-benefits, impacts on other business processes and system priorities. Manage the development and evolution of project phases (based on time and objectives). Activities in these phases include developing timelines, organizing working sessions and creating deliverables. Lead core and extended EA teams through the process of defining EA requirements, principles and models. This may include developing a charter that is based on goals and objectives, and defining roles and responsibilities. Work with business-facing projects, and keep executives informed on their progress. Lead EA communication activities, progress, and benefits. Interview and educate key stakeholders, organizational change managers, business customers and constituencies. Collaborate with business leaders to ensure that EA requirements, principles, models and recommendations are adhered to when migrating to the desired future state. Define and articulate common agreement and understanding of what EA is, its potential value (based on business goals and objectives), and the value of leveraging its outcomes within the scope of the overall enterprise architecture (EA) effort. Work with other architects to ensure that the EA supports, reflects, advances and integrates with the overall EA efforts. Work with Business leaders or SMEs to scope the level of detail of current-state documentation, and identify gaps between the current and desired future states. Participate in the development of high-level projects or initiatives to close the gaps between the current- and future-state architectures, including road maps, proposed change projects and target metrics. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's or equivalent degree in business, information systems or related disciplines, and extensive related project experience. Advanced EA training a plus. Minimum of five years' experience in business management, business processes management, information technology management, process design, consulting or architecture. Management experience in one or more of the following areas: Strategic planning, leadership, relationship management, change management, program management efforts involving the coordination of resources and goals across multiple, related projects, leading multidisciplinary, high-performance work teams and developing and monitoring the delivery of efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.
