We have an exciting opportunity for a control systems programmer (PLCs and HMIs) with an instrumentation and controls (I&C) automation engineer or designer/technician background to join our growing team. Job Expectations:
For the right candidate, this position offers the opportunity for significant professional growth and the potential to collaborate with local and national teams. In this role, your responsibilities will include programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting process automation solutions for industrial and municipal projects. This candidate will have the opportunity to practice or develop the skills as an engineer or designer/technician providing instrumentation and controls designs (specifications, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs). We are looking for candidates who have a proven track record of programming, testing, troubleshooting, and starting up continuous process control systems. Primary responsibilities include:
+ Design, program, commission, and troubleshoot process control systems including:
+ PLC IO database and control logic
+ HMI process, control, monitoring, and diagnostics graphics
+ Historian and reports
+ Profibus, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP and other fieldbus networks
+ Work and communicate effectively with other disciplines, task leaders, and project managers.
+ Work and communicate comfortably and effectively with client programmers and contractors.
Additional responsibilities may include:
+ Perform submittal reviews from contractors, vendors, and system integrators.
+ Perform QA/QC review of sub-consultant work.
+ Produce effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums.
+ Develop control strategies that document the control logic to be configured in the control system.
+ Develop instrumentation and controls designs (specifications, control system schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs).
Position Requirements:
+ B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or other engineering degree relevant to process automation control system work desired.
+ Associate degree in a trade for automation system design and programming if not degreed engineer.
+ Minimum of 6 years of experience as an automation systems programmer with hands-on commissioning and troubleshooting of continuous process control systems (PLCs and HMIs).
+ Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Access.
+ Travel away from the home office is anticipated from time to time given the nature of the programming responsibilities. Level of travel is expected to be 10%.
+ The following are not requirements but are desirable:
+ Automation certificate (such as ISA CAP)
+ Experience programming Emerson Ovation DCS
+ Experience programming Rockwell Studio 5000
+ Experience programming in SQL
+ Experience working around 480 Vac power circuits and 120 Vac control circuits
+ Instrumentation installation and calibration experience
+ Industrial process automation systems design experience
+ Fieldbus design experience
+ Cyber security design experience
