About the Job

The Outreach Specialist for Omni Youth Programs will be a highly enthusiastic, friendly individual who will sign up local non-profit agencies, community groups and various organizations in Sacramento County to receive our free alcohol and marijuana prevention model program trainings.

Responsibilities
 Research and reach out to numerous appropriate community sources to promote and sign up organizations for trainings.
 Attending and representing agency at community networking meetings, community fairs, or other events/meetings as approved by Executive Director.
 Communicate with contacts through in person, phone and electronic media to set up meetings to promote the effectiveness of programs and review in detail program offerings and how appropriate a fit our services are with organizations, barriers to engagement, capacity to implement programs once trained, special needs, cultural and other adaptations needed, and other factors to enhance successful outcomes and support.
 Taking initiative to sign up agencies/groups to receive trainings, including all details and following through.
 Ensure organizations ability to conduct trainings on own are fully reviewed and addressed and all support to ensure action and positive, professional follow up to organization is met.
 Provide detailed list of training dates established that week, weekly written report of upcoming appointments, progress report on current contacts, outcomes and upcoming strategies along with required reports and other paperwork.
 Keeps promotional materials updated
 Attend all mandatory trainings and meetings as well as educational opportunities assigned by the Executive Director.

Skills Needed

 Self - Motivator, Self - Starter, Self - Assured
 Experience in marketing and recurrent outreach
 Excellent verbal, phone and written communication skills
 Detailed and determined follow up skills.
 Good research, interpersonal and internet skills to seek potential new contacts
 Some experience in the non - profit arena
 Experience successfully signing up organizations for trainings
 Must be extremely reliable and meet deadlines.
 Likes to work as a team but can also work independently.
 Extremely flexible and adaptable to changing schedules, times, locations and needs.
 Business writing and speaking skills
 Proficient in Microsoft Word and Publisher

Job Details

 Half Time Position (30 per week)
 Majority of time to be spent in direct communication with potential trainee organizations and group representatives, preferably in person.
 Additional job requirements include weekly in person meeting with Executive and Associate Directors.
 Use of office space, laptop, phone and printer available.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree or 2 years work experience in a relevant field to community outreach and recruitment and communication with organizations in the non profit sector .

Hours
• Hours to be determined by the Executive Director.
• Hours can include office work, attending community meetings, and community outreach with minimum of in office time consisting of regular weekly mandatory face to face meetings with Executive Director and other meetings as requested.

Pay Rate
• $20.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on experience
