Position Summary

The entry and first working level class of the series. Incumbent, under the direction of the appropriate administrator, performs a variety of technical tasks related to the development and maintenance of the college schedule of classes including the preparation of preliminary payroll records for certificated adjunct and regular faculty with particular attention to overload contracts, and absences.

Office, and reports to the Associate Vice President, of Instruction.

Assignment Responsibilities
● Prepares, calculates, and processes tentative certificated schedules and errata reports.
● Maintains files and tracks work experience enrollments.
● Answers telephone and responds to requests.
● Reviews files, records, and other documents to obtain information for requests.
● Communicates with students, faculty, and other individuals to disseminate or explain information.
● Processes paperwork for on and off-site contract classes and other special requests.
● Prepares time sheets/absence reports, and preliminary payroll records.
● Processes payroll for overload and adjunct certificated employees.
● Calculates faculty payroll reports including revisions.
● Assists in preparing and proofing material for published Schedule of Classes.
● Compiles and checks data for schedules.
● Prepares material for data processing.
● Reviews master exception class schedule report and attendance error reports for mistakes and works with others to make corrections.
● Prepares routine correspondence and monthly reports.
● Orders office supplies and materials.
● Compiles information for federal, state and district reports.
● Operates office machines, such as photocopier, fax machine, shredder and personal computer.
● Programs, modifies, and maintains a variety of databases.
● Composes and types letters and memoranda.
● Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: One year of college level business and clerical coursework. One year of experience in Los Rios Community College District performing clerical duties at the level of Clerk III or equivalent.

Have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles.

(Experience Requirement: One year of experience is equal to 12 months of experience at a maximum of 40 hours per week. Applicable part-time experience will be converted to the full-time equivalent for purposes of meeting the experience requirement. Education Requirement: 12 units are equal to six months of education; 24 units are equal to one year of education.)
