SBM Site Services is hiring a Senior Staff Accountant for our corporate headquarters in Sacramento, CA. The Staff Accountant applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties. Perform variety of month:end closing procedures including preparation and posting of journal entries. May include some review of lower level Accountant work.Analyze financial statement accounts, identify unusual trends or erroneous entries, and verify accuracy of transactions and balances.Prepare monthly account reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Assist in the annual audit and tax compliance process by providing supporting documentation.Assist in the documentation of accounting policies and procedures, including the ability to recommend and implement process improvements.Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four:year college or university with a business emphasis; or one to two years related accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Microsoft Office with particular emphasis on MS Excel. Solomon or other ERP experience preferred.
