The Research Admin 2 is responsible for overall planning, organizing, analyzing, managing, accounting and monitoring of division research contract and grant activities for the Division of Hematology and Oncology including research activities with public agencies (federal, state and local government), private non-profit research organizations, other institutions and industries.REQUIRED --Experience and knowledge of accounting and financial controls, financial analysis, assessment and forecasting, audit techniques and ability to perform business systems analysis, cost accounting and project management --Experience managing fiscal operations of a multi-faceted operation, including multiple offices, laboratories, research equipment and other research facilities --Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for preparation of all fiscal responsibilities --Strong planning, analytical and financial skills to anticipate challenges and analyze problems, implement financial controls and compliance, recognize financial discrepancies and implement corrections, resolve issues and offer innovative solutions --Mathematical and financial skills to monitor, analyze, interpret, assess and provide accounting and forecasting reports with estimated variables on future expenditures of all projects and accounts assigned --Ability to adhere to University, Department, and Division policies and procedures --Ability to assemble complex budgets, perform reconciliation of ledgers and financial accounts, develop spreadsheets and databases --Excellent computer skills to manipulate various software and database management programs to provide adequate accounting controls and reporting --Able to work occasional overtime as needed to meet deadlines --Within 12 months of hire, must have completed the RACS (Research Administration Certification Series) instruction PREFERRED --Knowledge preferred of University accounting policies and procedures as it pertains to personnel and finance including Business Contracts --Knowledge preferred of State and Federal policies and procedures as it pertains to Fiscal Management and Reporting, Budget and Accounting, Federal Charging Practices, Uniform Guidance, OMB Circulars A21 and A110 --Knowledge and experience preferred using PPS, PPS Decision Support, Kuali, DaFIS Decision Support, Cayuse --Knowledge preferred of UC IRB protocol submission requirements including guiding principles, policies and procedures --Experience preferred of at least 1 year working with proposals and grant award management including federal research awards and/or clinical trials SPECIAL REQUIREMENT - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT To Apply, please click the following link:
