Our 10-week Summer Internship Program is an ideal way for both undergrad and graduate students to gain real-life work experience while learning what a career at Blue Shield of California can offer. Interns work on real-world projects and initiatives while being immersed in all aspects of our business. From interacting with senior leadership to visiting a neighborhood health clinic, interns will build a better understanding of the diversity and complexities of working in the dynamic world of health insurance. Below is some information on the project this intern will be working on: Reporting to the Senior Manager Internal Audit Services, the role of the Summer Internal Audit Intern is critical to the success of Blue Shield of California and the Internal Audit department in realizing its goals and objectives. This individual will play a key role as part of the audit team in delivering and collaborating on all aspects of the 2018 audit plan. Under the supervision of an experienced auditor, the Summer Intern will conduct portions of planned audits. This will include: * Obtaining an understanding of Internal Audit Methodology and the audit process. * Analyzing data to identify trends and patterns to select testing samples. * Documenting and performing audit procedures to support conclusions. * Participating in and conducting interviews. * Assisting with communicating audit results. * Assisting with special projects as assigned by audit management. Candidate Profile and Requirements: * Pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Finance, Accounting or related field * Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA * Technical skills required: Basic computer skills and use of standard Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint) * Strong communication and analytical skills.SDL2017
