Job Description Overview: A world leader in the nursery business, with 11 affiliates on five continents, is seeking a US Financial Manager. The US business has a diversified portfolio in olive, fruit, and citrus trees with manufacturing sites in California, Oregon, and Florida. The Financial Manager will be responsible for the efforts, results, and leadership of the finance departments within the US entities. This position includes the important role of developing synergy and consistency throughout the several financial functions in the US, as well as empowering and developing the different sites’ financial teams. The Financial Manager will report directly to the Group Chief Financial Officer. Responsibilities include: Create an organizational structure within the finance departments to facilitate the achievement short-term goals and long-term objectives. Develop and implement a documented system of financial policies and procedures. Oversee the accounting operations and financial staff as well as cash management and risk management. Lead the annual budget process, periodic forecasts, and external audit process. Ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of financial results and reports. Guarantee compliance with local, state, and federal tax filing and reporting requirements as well as with the Group Corporate defense rulings and Delegation of Authority (DOA) policy. Oversee outsourced finance functions, such as tax and payroll, as well as insurance policies. Support, develop, and provide continuous improvement to accounting systems, including costing, payroll, and invoicing, ensuring consistency to the site teams. Provide financial analysis in areas of capital investments, margin analysis, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations. Ensure correct CapEx financial tracking and IC financial information flow. Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA or CMA, preferred but not required. Ten or more years’ experience accounting and finance experience. Strong ERP experience. Proficiency in Navision/Microsoft Dynamics, and Excel. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated strong aptitude in interpersonal skills, including communication, team work, integrity, resilience, flexibility, and leadership. Travel (40-50%) to the three operational sites (California, Oregon, and Florida) and Corporate site (Spain).
