The Account Representative (Credit Balance) must be able to identify credit balances and initiate refund requests and corrections. Other responsibilities include: researching overpayments or duplicate payments by contacting insurance companies; payment posting; patient registration and performing any necessary account changes.A. Education1. High school diploma or GED required B. Experience/Knowledge:1. One year working with medical insurance including HMO's, PPO;s, MediCal and Medicare, ICD-9's and CPT codes2. 1-3 years experience in accounts receivable or accounts payable3. 1-3 years experience in customer service C. Skills1. Communicate and work effectively with others2. Analyze and research patient accounts3. Understand basic accounting principles4. Operate a personal computer for input and extraction of data5. Work independently6. Work in a Microsoft environment including Word and Excel
